DKN Acoustics helped FiL Group property developers gain planning approval for their residential development. 

 

We provided the noise assessment report to accompany their planning application for the scheme to Sutton Council.

The site was an existing tool hire yard and was affected by noise from both road traffic and plant serving a nearby food take-away premises.  We undertook the daytime and night-time noise survey, calculating the noise exposure of the most exposed proposed residential facades.

The assessment provided noise control recommendations for the proposed building façade (e.g. glazing and ventilation specifications) to ensure that the Council's noise limits would not be exceeded inside living rooms and bedrooms.  Further recommendations were provided for proposed outdoor amenity areas (gardens and balconies) to provide the right conditions there too.

Working closely with the planning consultant and client, our report provided the right details for the scheme to receive planning approval.
