Tapas bar, Tetbury, Gloucestershire

We helped secure planning approval for a new mechanical services plant and customer terrace.

The tapas bar owner commissioned DKN Acoustics for the noise assessment to accompany the planning application to the Local Authority.

From the outset, we liaised with the Local Authority to agree the way forward and the acoustic criteria that would need to be met.

We then undertook a baseline noise survey at the nearest residences at the critical times of proposed use.  This enabled us to recommended appropriate noise criteria (or targets) for the development.

The noise level from the proposed plant items and from future customers was predicted at the nearest residences.  Due to the proximity of the residences, it was necessary to recommend noise control measures to meet the adopted noise criteria, including acoustic screening and noise-mitigation for plant items.

The noise report was approved and helped the architect to gain planning permission for our client.  The client was able to proceed with the development, using our report as a design guide.
